Description
This course provides an in-depth study of corrosion mechanisms and alloy performance in wet-process phosphoric acid systems. Drawing on the Nickel Institute’s technical guidelines, it explores the influence of chemical contaminants, temperature, and process variables on the corrosion behavior of stainless steels and nickel-based alloys. Students will learn to evaluate material compatibility, identify corrosion risks, and select optimal alloys for equipment design, handling, storage, and transport within phosphoric acid production facilities. Case studies from industrial applications support a practical understanding of alloy behavior in complex environments.
