Description
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to mechanical measurement, equipping learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform accurate dimensional and angular measurements in workshop and laboratory environments. It covers the principles of metrology, including measurement systems, units, and the distinction between direct and indirect measurement, before progressing to the correct use of precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and goniometers. Through interactive content, 3D visualisations, and applied assessment activities, learners develop the ability to identify instrument components, interpret measurement readings with appropriate resolution, and select suitable tools for specific measurement tasks.
