Description

Steel is a widely used material in bridge construction. In this seminar, Dr. Edgar Tapia Hernández will analyse the behaviour of bridges in the face of overload, undermining, wind and seismic demands in Latin America.

In addition, different myths about the behaviour of steel bridges, their conservation, rehabilitation and sustainability will be discussed. To do this, the design demands that must be considered for the analysis and design of steel bridges of short span (simply supported with a span of up to 42 meters) will be studied.

This conference is developed in Spanish and is a joint initiative of worldsteel / steeluniversity, Alacero, ArcelorMittal, Gerdau and Ternium.
