Description

It is important to know how much distortion will occur during carburising and take it into account in the rough machining steps that precede the carburising stage. This avoids excessive and highly expensive post-carburising finish machining of the hardened surface to obtain the required accuracy. In an ideal situation, post carburising machining should be avoided. In this module the internal stress will be described.
