Description

Remember that surface hardening treatments are especially used in parts that are rotating against each other – e.g. gears engaged in each other and rotating at several thousand RPM. Gear teeth rub against each other and also exert bending forces on each other. For that reason the selection of a particular surface hardening treatment is very important. In this module other surface hardening treatments will be introduced. In particular, the nitriding method will be explained. Then, the elements that are useful to develop nitriding will be showed.
Finally, the certificate of testing will be exposed and the understanding of each part of the certificate will be outlined.
