Grain Growth

Module Type

Description
In general, the grain growth is affected by time, temperature, and chemical composition. With respect to the first two, the annealing temperature is usually more important than time, even if the grain growth is not an instantaneous phenomenon. In this module grain growth affected by alloy in steel will be presented.
In addition, the effect produced into the grain growth when the temperature increases beyond the recrystallisation range will be explained in detail.
What you will learn
- Explain normal and abnormal grain growth processes;
- Outline the factors affecting grain growth within recrystallisation.
