Description
How much thickness reduction can I make? How much force will I need to deform that thickness? These questions should be answered when you design the hot rolling process.
To perform the calculation of thickness, force applied, etc. it is necessary to understand the theory behind the hot rolling process. In this module the theory of Hot Rolling will be studied. At first, the calculation of angle bite will be explained. Then, applying a simplified theory we will be able to calculate the rolling load. Finally, the math to determine the torque and power consumption of hot rolling will be explored.
