Bearings have played an extensive role in the amorphous Industrial Revolution, allowing the industrial machinery to operate efficiently. The term “Bearing” is taken from the verb “to bear”, a bearing being mechanical equipment allows one part to bear (i.e., to support) another. The simplest bearings are bearing surfaces cut or compose into a part, with variable degrees of control over the size, form, roughness, or location of the surface. Thus, this eLearning module focuses on how bearings play a dominant role in the proper functioning of heavy machinery. This technical course takes us through real-time applications and usage of bearings in the industry.
