To protect personnel by preventing or controlling access to hazards in work areas by the installation and maintenance of barricades, demarcation and restricting access. This module will provide you guidance for the erection of permanent and temporary barricading and demarcation to prevent people from being unnecessarily exposed to a hazard by raising awareness of the presence of a hazard, or restricting access to an area of the workplace. The objective is to ensure that health and safety signs and barricades are placed in an appropriate and consistent manner and to clearly define the demarcation of access ways, storage areas and work areas.
